Subversion (Latin subvertere: overthrow) refers to a process by which the values and principles of a system in place are turned from below or overthrown, in an attempt to transform the established social order and its structures of power, authority, hierarchy, and social norms.

A subversive is something or someone carrying the potential for some degree of subversion. In this context, a "subversive" is sometimes called a "traitor" with respect to (and usually by) the government in power.

What can we say about imperialism, CIA, subversion and global democracy? It's out there. Go check the Internet: people dying in Latin American streets, fighting for their rights. A coup in Bolivia, supported by the military and Cristian fanatics. Big protests in Haiti, +70 dead. Chile? more than 40 people dead for protesting against social inequity, more than 200 people blinded by the local police and army.

And musicians still ask themselves? What can we do?
Well, do what you want. But my recommendation is: don't be afraid. Go outside, march with your people. This is just a matter of time. The old system is falling. Hard times requires furious dancing.
